I was checking out a blog post at Custom Xsitepro Templates and discovered there were some really interesting thoughts regarding xsitepro templates, I thought all xsite templates were the same.....boy was I wrong. Since I use Xsitepro to create my public domain sites, I found the concept of custom xsite templates interesting.
Anyone who has used xsitepro can easily tell when a website is created with xsitepro templates. Once an Xsitepro website pops up in your browser, there's no doubt that it was made with the standard Xsitepro templates.
I'm not intimating that xsitepro is a bad program for creating websites, but simply that the pages it creates all have a standard look and appear to be created by a newbie. Now....I'm not ripping on Xsitepro or their users. Now, because of Xsitepro's use of templates......just about anyone can get a website online and maintain it, while learning the basics of working online. Anyone can choose an xsitepro template, plug it into the xsitepro program and begin to build a website, edit the website and upload it to the word wide web.
This is my concern, as someone who runs an online business and offline business, I want the most professional looking website available. How a business physically appears will often determine whether that person will buy, the same applies to your website, if it looks like a 10 year old created it.....well, that visitor will click away as fast as his mouse finger allows!
You have 2 options, you can contract with a professional website designer specializing in Custom Xsitepro Templates or you can learn to create custom templates yourself. I can create an xsitepro template that is next to impossible for anyone to tell that the site made from xsitepro. Another option is to search for some 3rd party providers of xsitepro templates, you can find some pretty nasty stuff, but there are also some great looking xsite templates that are packaged together. Yes, I'm a fan of custom xsite templates, but if your budget doesn't allow you to purchase one of these classy looking templates you can learn to use all the features of xsite ver 2 to create some pretty nice looking webpages using the standard templates.

Seamless Integration of Wordpress into Xsitepro with XsiteprotoWordpress
Just wanted to give you a heads up regarding a new way to incorporate a wordpress blog into xsitepro. I'll do a more thorough review latter, but you can learn a little more about this one of a kind tool called XsiteprotoWordpress by reading below....believe me, you won't want to miss out on this if you are an Xsitepro or Wordpress user!
I do a lot of work with Xsitepro. It’s a fantastic platform for
creating websites….fast! Better yet, just about anybody can get online

Youtube, Public Domain and Business

Review of Kim Standerline's Niche Health Articles for June
In many ways public domain and plr are the same. Depending on the license that comes with the Private Label Rights, it could be the same as Public Domain. So....I thought I would include some thoughts in this blog about Private Label Rights...some of the sites that work for me, some of the sources...and what to do with your PLR materials. You have to be careful, because there's a lot of PLR garbage out there. Once something is sold as PLR....thousands upon thousands could be using it. So....first I wanted to show you a website I work with called Niche Health Products.
Xsitepro Version 2 and Niche Health Products make a very profitable pair. Xsitepro Templates are specifically designed for Niche Health Product sites and with a little editing of the plr articles on your part, these sites can be very profitable just with adsense. If you consider using affiliate sales of either medical or herbal supplements.....or even books and ebooks from Amazon or Clickbank, these sites can be little vending machines. Below, you can read a further review and take a look at the free xsitepro templates for this month.
PLR articles can help you make a lot of money if you are using good articles and approaching the process from the right angle.
There are a variety of PLR licenses being sold and promoted. Some let you do anything you want with them,
so in essence they are just like public domain works. However, you'll find other Private Label Rights to vary with the type of book, maybe article and even software. Such as:
Private Label Rights memberships have sprouted like dandelions over the last 2 years and I belong to a good number of them and truthfully, I forget sometimes for months at a time to download all the material. That is all of them except for one. I also create a simple square header and footer for each subject in case someone might be looking just for a header graphic. Then I create an ebook which is matched in color and theme for each of the 2 subjects for that month. Along with the ebook, I create a flat image for both themes.
All the book and flat images are sized from 500 pixels wide down to 150 pixels wide.
You get a psd and jpg version of each website template so you can edit and slice the template as you wish.

You're probably wondering why 2 versions of Xsitepro. Well.....the first version of Xsitepro is a simple version with a .htm extension. Every webpage is made with the basic xsitepro website template and includes 3 google adsense ads with one plr article...once in a while I'll include a clickbank ebook if appropiate. Bottom line.....this first style is designed for the novice...someone who is new to xsitepro and webiste building...so all you have to do is import, edit and upload.
Version #2 is also an Xsitepro edition and includes everything that version 1 includes, except it has dynamic content automatically included and rotated on every page of your website. Basically this Xsitepro website has everything the first version has, however, it includes something very important and that is the rotating snippets of text and current news from rss feeds, the snippets will include affiliate links, sometimes amazon, sometimes clickbank and always for more than one product...don't forget the bottom of the page has fresh news snippets automatically included from online news sources. It's next to impossible to have duplicate content with these sites even if you don't change a thing....(as always, anytime you work with plr material it is to your advantage to do some editing to the original text). The other unique thing about these sites is that they will have the .php extension
The next 2 versions are for those that use programs like dreamweaver, NVU, FrontPage or other WYSIWYG type editors.
The third version has pages with the extension of .htm and it has everything that the second XsitePro version has....the major difference is that the pages are controlled by a .htacess file (that may be greek to you...thus the reason for version #4). This is a file that allows the pages to end in .htm or .html and still have the fancy rotating content and other dynamically rotated material on the site. Remember, the dynamic material is to help create a degree of uniqueness to your website.
Sometimes your hosting provider has a hard time using the .htaccess file so the pages have to end in .php.....this is the 4th version. It has everything of #3 but the .htaccess file and it is sometimes easier to work with....You will not see any difference in the last two versions except the .php ending. I might add that the .php pages usually will not show up in the typical wysiwyg webpage editors.

What Happens to Works Produced on or After January 1, 1978
Brand new material, that might have been created after January 1, 1978, which were previously protected by public domain laws for the life of the author adding 50 years, are at present secured for the life of the generator in addition to 70 years with no renewal term. Copyright in works created by two or more writers, now expires 70 years after the death of the latest living generator. Also, if the work in question was produced by hire, or pen name or hired work, the term of protection is the shorter of Ninety-five years from first writing or work, or 120 years from the date of creation. Therefore, there are no works produced after 1978 that will fall into the public domain for another 50 years or so.
I highly recommend that you contact an attorney when considering public domain rights, I'm not a lawyer and don't play one on TV :) this info is just to give you a general guideline....I have to say this!.

Version 2 of XsitePro is out to the public. Big deal you say, why should you care. Because you can build a website in a matter of hours and its one of the easiest website editors to use. Sure, you might be able to use wordpress blogs or blogger blogs for all your work, but I guarantee at some point you will need to build a standard website or webpage. Public Domain Secret Revealed
Today you're in luck, I'm going to share one of my secret public domain tools with you.

My mother is a consummate shopaholic, she lives to shop. Not that she goes out just to spend money, but she is on a constant hunt for a bargin. So...garage sales, open markets, rummage sales, church fund raisers....you name it, my mother stops by looking for the ultimate bargain.

I highly suggest taking a peek atTony Laidig's The Easy Money Picture Book it's like an encyclopedia on the subject of Public Domain Images...you'll be amazed.

I know opportunity when I see it!
Well considering mom's ability to get out and check the local stock, I recognized a possible business relationship could be formed...so I told mom about public domain materials and a little on how they work and what you can do with them. It was a major business plan. I said, "Mom, when you're out, keep an eye out for old books...don't spend more than a buck or two and if you feel like looking for a copyright, don't let anything get by you that has a copyright of 1928 or latter. If the book has pictures and images....you can pay up to 5 dollars for it.
Well...it's garage sale season and my mother and my wife are out looking for old public domain postcards, pictures, books, maps and any other printed work! I haven't been feeling too well so I don't get a chance to get out much...probably a good thing, since I'd probably end up spending more than I made :) Anyway, mom brought me an old geography text book from 1923, lots of great black and white photos and several colored plates that were graphics. I have 2 specific projects in mind...and no I'm not sharing them with you :)...anyway, these images will fit perfectly into one of the projects.
After reading Tony Laidig's, Tony Laidig's, "The Easy Money Picture Book" a light bulb went on regarding public domain images. You really need to get this book, it's a little more expensive than the typical e-book however, it's just packed with solid public domain content and information and I believe it's over 230 pages long. This book has been the seed for many thoughts regarding many projects concerning the use of public domain images and my mind is constantly reeling with ideas for projects of all kinds.
Getting back to the geography book that mom picked up. Let's not forget about the text. Although some if it is dated, much of it can be used for articles and website content either as is or with a little rewriting. I guarantee that this public domain content is as pure as the driven snow and I won't find any of it on the web anyplace....so no duplicate content!
Imagine all that from one little old book.

This book has been the seed for many thoughts regarding many projects concerning the use of public domain images and my mind is constantly reeling with ideas for projects of all kinds.
Getting back to the geography book that mom picked up. Let's not forget about the text. Although some if it is dated, much of it can be used for articles and website content either as is or with a little rewriting. I guarantee that this public domain content is as pure as the driven snow and I won't find any of it on the web anyplace....so no duplicate content!
Imagine all that from one little old book.

You won't move forward and make money, chances are you'll become discouraged and either quit or just give up. Research Using Public Domain
There is a wealth of information online and sometimes, in fact a log of times public domain material provides superior research material....remember "There is nothing new Under the Sun".
One of the things I’ve learned about public domain material is that it’s all about research. By that I mean, public domain material almost always comes up in some way when doing research on just about any topic. Free Public Domain Images
I found a site that has about 125 free public domain images.
The great thing about using free public domain images is, number 1, they are free :) Number 2 you can do anything you want with free public domain images. That means you can use them to create resell rights products, plr products and you can sell the images themselves.
One word of caution. When someone waives current copyright rules and says they are giving public domain rights to a specific work....sometimes they will put limitations on those public domain rights. I'm not sure how legal that is, but I'd had to create a product to sell only to find out that the original creator has put limits on the public domain rights and tells you that you can do anything you want except sell his works.
In reality I guess the above situation would not be true public domain. A simple way to avoid the problem is to drop the original owner an email and ask him/her if you can use their "works" in your project.
Anyway, back to the images. I'm always looking for images to use, here is a site with Free Public Domain Images just waiting for you to use :)

Libraries are an excellent and free resource for finding public domain material. Pick a subject that interests you and scan the shelves for older books relating to the topic, or spend an afternoon browsing through the card catalogue. Most of the time, the publication date is right near the beginning of the listing on the card, so identifying works published before 1923 is a simple matter.
The Public Domain Code Book is a great place to learn some of the deeper details of how to use public domain images and other materials.
Most librarians are quite knowledgeable about their library's collections and are happy to help you find exactly what you're looking for. If you're planning a visit to the library, it's advantageous to make up a list of questions regarding the object of your search and approach the librarian before you do anything else, particularly if you are going to a small local library. Larger state-run library and university library staff members may not have the time or resources to devote personal attention to every patron.

Civil War Battle Map a Public Domain Case Study
I decided to create a case study using public domain images and take you through the process of researching a niche looking for small niches and finding keywords called long tailed keywords. Once we find the niche, then we will research and work on the product to be developed.
You probably already know that I have an interest in Public Domain Maps so lets look for something that has some monthly search volume with little competition from other websites. In this process I'm going to use only 2 tools to start with, Micro Nich Finder and an ebook and public domain images resource guide called The Easy Money Project by Tony Laidig.
I found a site that has some public domain maps, in particular, civil war maps and to dig a little deeper I looked for a Civil War Battle Map!
I basically outline the process and show you the tools to use. However, I can't stress how thorough The Easy Money Project ebook is....I think its around 200 pages. Tony describes the process of taking a digital image and turning it into a poster. He goes so far as to give you details on paper weight, printing costs, how to interact with the printer along with many other details.
So let's get started.

I guess you would have to agree that it's a respectable size
niche with many long tailed keywords. The key to marketing online
with success is finding a proper niche market and promoting the right
product and/or service to that market. Take a look at the difference between
"civil war map" with 1732 searches a month and "map of civil war" with
260 searches a month.
I use a tool called Micro Niche Finder
to locate long tailed keywords with a small amount of competition. Similar tools
will result in different results. It's very difficult to find a way to get an
exact number since every search engine is different in some way, however, the
construct of discovering money making niches utilizing a keyword tool like Micro
Niche Finder is very accurate.
For instance Micro Niche Finder
reveals to me that 'civil war map' is searched on 33,720 times every 30 days and
there are 50,100 webpages containing the exact keyword phrase. Keep in mind
that the amount 33,720 includes any phrase which includes the words
"civil" "war" and "map" and in any random order. Competing with 50,000 websites is
somewhat of a task...it's not impossible, but you would genuinely have to understand what
you're doing to get on the first or second page of google.
A more effective method is to search for a long-tailed-keywords with a search number of between 200 and 5000 a every 30 days for
that phrase and is only found on a small number of websites....which in a way is relative to the monthly search count. Lower than 10,000 is OK, 500 to 2000 is even better and you can find yourself on the first couple of pages in Google with little sweat.
In this case, I used Micro Niche Finder to discover this long tailed keyword "civil war battle maps"
There are 2,700 searches a every 30 days for that term and 2,910 webpages that
are indexed for that term. That implies that if I can get on page 1 of Google I will get nearly 3,000 eyes on my webpage each month. If 2% of those vistors would make a purchase, that would be 60 sales every 30 days!
Recall, there are only 3000 webpages indexed with the long tailed keyword "civil war battle maps".
All you have to do is use some simple seo practices, write some articles, produce a
mini-net with free blogs and practice some social networking and bookmarking you will be able to get
webpage on the first couple of pages of Google.
Now lets assume, you've done the seo,
written articles, did some social bookmarketing, submit to directories and create a web of blogs with some articles.....it's going to consume some time to get ranked for the the phrase in question. It's time to start putting your product together.
Let's find a Civil War Battle Map and if you click on that link....you'll find some civil war maps!
let's create a poster of it. First you need to
download the civil war map that is most appropiate to your keywords, however, you have to know which
formatting to use and you will require some unique applications in order to view the image and
start working with it. This software is free for the taking....but that's all I'm
